Restore a subscription
Open the plans screen — it appears when a recording needs a plan, and as See plans on that recording — and tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought with. Restore brings back a subscription; it does not bring back hours bought in packs, which live under the app's identifier (see Hours below).
Cancel a subscription
On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Typecut → Cancel Subscription. Do it at least 24 hours before the period ends, or the next one is charged. You keep what you paid for until the period ends. We cannot cancel a subscription for you — Apple holds it.
Refunds
Refunds are given by Apple, not by us: reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a pack of hours, the hours it gave are removed.
Hours
Each plan includes hours of transcription by the month — 20 a month on the weekly and monthly plans, 15 a month on the yearly plan — counted from the day you subscribed, whatever the plan's billing period. Unused hours do not carry over to the next month. Packs of 5, 10 or 30 hours never expire, are spent after the plan's hours, and need a live plan to be spent. Your devices on the same Apple Account share hours when iCloud Keychain is on.
Hours set aside for a transcription come back if it fails, if you stop it, or if no speech is found. Everything else — recording, editing, captions, translation, export — is free and has no limit.
Transcription is not working
Transcription needs a connection, and is not available in every country. The app says what went wrong on the recording itself, and the recording is always kept: nothing you recorded is lost because it could not be transcribed. If it keeps failing, write to us with the time it happened.
Delete your data
Your projects live only on your iPhone: delete a project in the app, or delete the app to remove all of them. What our server keeps — the record of your subscription and your hours, under a random identifier that names nobody — is described in the Privacy Policy (typecut.app/privacy). To have it deleted, write to us with the Order ID of any purchase you made in Typecut, from Apple's email receipt or reportaproblem.apple.com.
